But I *haven't* been around the list much since I've been on the AT,
so I've obviously been missing some interesting posts. But if you
do a search for SitRep now, there's a billion posts about it!

there interested in joining this one-man crusade? It'll have double
the impact if I can turn it into a two-man crusade! =)

You know I'm with you...I've been around the board and still had no idea
what sitrep was. Apparently, it hasn't caused me enough concern to inquire
as to what the meaning was.......I just figured it was more useless
information for me to forget.

Yep - I'm on to this, too. For some reason "sitrep" gets defined to me over
and over and over and over and I still can't ever recall what it means - is
this a sad indicator of my evolutionary (un)fitness? ;) Mother of Crickets

Perhaps if we ask nicely, our webmasters can update the description
on the home page of the yahoo group to include translations of the
lingo that is in so much use. e.g. Sitrep, F, P, X, HH, QRSTZ, etc.
I agree that it can be confusing for newcommers. Some of it is in
the FAQ on the web site, but not all of it.

this is the best point. The explanation of the basics is already on the
home page, but we continually get asked what PF and X stand for. As the
letters are so personalized, I don't think we can give a definitive list (my
personal favorite is Psychomommy's L).
